Version 8.6.2: Region selection for S3 backup, Hyper-V optimization for disk space calculation, UTF-8 support for FTP

Dear users! In Handy Backup 8.6.2, we've added the option to choose a region when connecting to S3-compatible storage and introduced UTF-8 support in the FTP plugin. We've also improved the Hyper-V plugin for more accurate disk space calculation during backups, and enhanced the handling of files with quotes in their names when using the Network plugin.

Region Selection for S3 Plugins

You can now manually select the storage region when connecting to S3-compatible cloud storage (for Wasabi or Amazon S3 backups). This improves data transfer speed and connection stability by using servers that are geographically closer. All previously set up connections remain fully compatible and continue to work without any issues.

Hyper-V Plugin Update

Handy Backup now accurately estimates the data volume while performing Hyper-V backups and will alert you if there isn't enough free space on the destination disk. This helps avoid interruptions in your backup tasks and allows for better planning of storage requirements.

UTF-8 Support for FTP Plugins

UTF-8 mode is now automatically enabled on the server side for reliable FTPS and FTP backups. This ensures proper handling of files with names that include characters from different alphabets (e.g., Chinese) and improves compatibility when exchanging data with various FTP servers.

Network Plugin Optimization

File names with quotes are now correctly handled, preventing issues when transferring data.
