Dear friends, we are happy to announce the release of version 7.4.3!
By design, our software allows backing up local computer data (in “standalone” editions) and network data (in client-server editions), and this largely defines how internal components interact with each other. In simple words, there always must be a “Coordinator” that ties all the parts into a coherent backup system.
In network backup schemes, failure of a remote component calls sophisticated recovery schemes. Earlier, the same logic applied to “standalone” editions, which resulted in performance issues for relatively minor external events, such as connecting the computer to a different network (which is a rare situation for network servers, but common for a laptop with WiFi).
In the new version 7.4.3, we have changed the logic for standalone versions: the update is recommended for all users of Home Standard, Professional and Small Server editions.
The FTP Backup plug-in now automatically detects if the remote server supports absolute paths and changes operation mode.
The SFTP Backup plug-in now supports keyboard interactive authorization.
We have updated the look and feel of the program’s GUI:
We welcome you to update to the new version and check out the new beautiful toolbar, menu, etc.
For ease of understanding, we have decided to rename Workstations (components responsible for running backups on remote computers in client-server backup schemes) to Agents. Materials on the website and in user manual will be reviewed and updated in the nearest future.
The update to version 7.4.3 is free and is recommended for all users!
