Copy Utility

Data copying utilities are designed to ease or automate copying of data stored on computer hard drive or memory. They may have a variety of features in order to make the copying process as smooth and simple as possible.

Most copy utilities support only basic copying which is performed via file system queries. Advanced utilities also allow copying data stored in a computer’s memory (e.g. databases), or information that is not accessible on file system level (e.g. HDD boot sectors).

Creating a backup copy of important data is a good way to protect it from damage or destruction. In case of a disaster, backups let you quickly restore data and get back to work without applying to expensive data recovery services.
